Intel Processor Model Details

For those not yet aware Intel have changed the way they name their processors in PC's and laptops. Formerly, they were named with the clock speed of the processor, for example a Pentium 4 2.8GHz. They now have a numerical reference, for example, an Intel Pentium M 740. This new naming convention gives no immediate indication as to the general speed or size of the processor. One of the improvements to this new range of processors is an increase in cache size. Although some processors may look to have dropped in overall speed, some have had an increase in the size of cache present. This has performance implications
