MicroFine Droplet Technology
Canon’s print head contains a powerful, high-precision dot placement ink-firing mechanism. With a heater mounted at the end of each nozzle the print head generates a bubble that fires ink straight down. This enables the ink to be laid down in precise dot placement and uniform dot shape at extremely high speeds.
8 Picoliter dot size
The ability to print with this small of a dot size allows for a print to have smoother gradations, especially when printing skin tones.
Large Volume Ink Tanks
High capacity tanks – 1 for each color – eliminates the necessity for frequent ink replacement, enabling uninterrupted large-volume printing.
Maintenance Free Design
The imagePROGRAF was specially designed with minimal maintenance or inspections required.
Non-firing Detection System and Compensation System
When clogged or non-firing nozzles are detected, a print head cleaning cycle is automatically executed. If the failing nozzles do not recover after the cleaning cycle, other functioning nozzles will compensate for the non-functioning nozzles.
